Tabletop World Windmill

Tabletop World Windmill painted with Reaper Miniatures MSP paint, Vallejo paint, Citadel ink and The Army Painter quickshade. This is the second piece of the hamlet I'm building. I made it in the same fashion as the Water Well I painted two months ago. I painted the weathering effect on the wood and stones and added verdigris and rust on the metallic parts. This Windmill model consists of six parts. The sails need to be fixed to the roof. I will build a base later, since I want to participate in next year's Tabletop World painting competition with this model.

I also added six decorative anchor plates on the windmill wall. I designed these structural reinforcements in Inventor software, prepared a program in Chitubox and printed them on my resin 3D printer. I broke one of them when I removed it from the print supports but I think it’s even more interesting and realistic this way. As you can see on the last pictures, the anchor plates are about 14mm long and only 2mm thick. For me 3D printing is offering an array of new possibilities. I think these additional elements are very original as I have never seen them on other models before. I can’t wait to see what other components I’ll be integrating to my next projects.

02023, Tolzar Righteous Arm

Reaper Miniatures 02023, Tolzar Righteous Arm.
This Dark Heaven Legends model was sculpted by Sandra Garrity.

I started painting it during RVE (Reaper Virtual Expo). I painted the cape as I was following along Ian Markon's class on blending through Layering and Feathering. And I painted the freehand at the bottom of the cape during Brice Cocanour's Beginner Freehand class. I then painted his armor, shield and hammer head using the SENMM technique. It's my first take at Sky and Earth Non Metallic Metal. I did my best to reflect the sunset on all metallic parts.

Dark Sword Miniatures DSM8107, Joey the Thug - Sheltie Rogue.
This Critter Kingdoms model was sculpted by Dave Summers.
It's a miniature made up of three pieces which are easy to assemble.
I will now build a proper base for it.

Perils of the Underworld

Here is my Perils of the Underworld diorama. The building WIP can be found here and the painting WIP here. To realize this diorama, I used Reaper Miniatures model and MSP paint only.

The whole idea of this project started with the gemstone the gnome is holding in her left hand. I converted 03082 Ingrid the female gnome sculpted by Derek Schubert as a svirfneblin prospector. (Svirfneblin is the name given to deep gnome in the Forgotten Realms lore). She is exploring the Underworld in search of precious minerals. She's riding her faithful familiar the 14453 hunting cat sculpted by Sandra Garrity. They are taken as prey by an ambushed 03602 stone lurker sculpted by Kevin Williams. There is also a 02018 bat from the familiar pack 1 hanging from its perch and several mushrooms I sculpted in green stuff to complete the scene.

The mushroom I sculpted are all found in the Forgotten Realms lore, the blue ones are called nightlight fungus, the round ones on the ground at the back of the display are called timmask, the pink ones are glowcap mushroom and the ones growing on the roots are  ripplebark. It took me about 90 hours of work to do this diorama, not including the time I spent preparing the WIP. Enjoy!
